This brief was to research a designer and layout an 8 page, self-covered booklet filled with your research about that designer and their work, utilising grids. I chose James Victore because his work is so individual and he has a lot to say about design. I was also very keen to experiment with the typography and layout and was influenced heavily by Victore’s works. I hand-lettered the quotes myself and played with some paint for the front image and the word “wrongest”. I only added the splash of red on the cover, the rest of the booklet is black and white, except for hints of red in Victore’s own works. This was a deliberate choice to make the red pop off the page while being influenced by the way Victore designs his own books.
